in this picture i cropped in around the flag and then erased the background on the two pictures of the men. i stamptooled them in on 80% op and then made them on separate layers so i could lower their op. added some burn tool, desat, the end :)
This looks quite nice. Be careful on cutouts that they don't get the 'choppy' look. In particular I am seeing it on the soldier on the left, right side of the hat. One way to avoid this is to use a soft edge eraser and/or but a little "outer glow" on it- found under LAYER-----LAYER STYLES.
The one other thing that I might suggest, is to not have the shoulders of the soldiers being able to see through and see both (in the middle of the image), this might be s personal opinion. Some of it is I don't know what exactly you are trying to say with this image. Tell me in the blog what exactly you are trying to say- are they supposed to represent the deceased- thus them being see through?
